We cook fresh meals in our house almost every day (once a week we'll go out to dinner with the kids). Cooking is evenly split between the wife and I, we both love to spend time in the kitchen and experiment with new dishes, although with young kids it's touch and go whether or not things actually get eaten, Our kids are somewhat adventurous. One of the things they will eat is sushi. They love going out to sushi. They're still mostly just on salmon and tuna, but with some goading we can get them to try other fish and even a few rolls now and then - "It's the same thing, it's just wrapped in seaweed", they like seaweed snacks, they like salmon and rice, but if the salmon and rice are wrapped in seaweed then it must be something created in hell by demons and cannot be touched.

Okay so, also trying to be health conscious we eat a fish more than half the dinners at home. I've done raw fish at home once or twice years ago, but never caught on, especially with the kids. browsing through Serious Eats, came across the definitive guide for, at least in my mind, eating raw fish at home. This is a really great article and I love Serious Eats, the website has great recipes, and a big part of this is that they really go through how and why things work when you cook, or in this case don't cook them, which gives me the confidence that they know what they're talking about. Add to this excellent images of their owns experiments with cooking so you can see the results for yourself.

Thinking of trying for sushi, ceviche or some other raw fish dish at home, you gotta read this first. Want to browse through some of their recipes, their instagram page is excellent Serious Eats Instagram.
