Reading
One of my favorite pastimes is reading and devouring information. Always been exceptionally curious about the world. I do consume my fair share of digital media, but I do absolutely love magazines and books. Sadly most traditional print magazines seem to maybe be on the ways out, too bad because I really do like having the flat paper spread out on the table while I’m eating, or half folded while crammed in to a chair.
I’ve started a somewhat exhaustive list of my reading below which has nothing to do with my blog, my thought process being that I can impress people with how impossibly smart I am, but really it serves as a nice single resource for me to bookmark what I like.
Digital News
CNN – go to daily source, provides quick snapshot of what’s happening in the world. Easy to read.
Rawstory – yeah it’s got a pretty good liberal bend, but updates a lot through the day.
South China Morning Post – great reporting, provides excellent news more from the Asian / China side of things. Get a feel for what’s happening on the other side of the planet.
The Dodo – love the Dodo, happy feel good stories about pets and animals, when I finish all the depressing news about the world the Dodo is a perfect cool down.
Magazines
All of the magazines also come in digital, I subscribe and get the paper copy anyway.
The Atlantic – Excellent long read stories on current affairs
The Economist – excellent global perspective. One of the all time best literally news and commentary from everywhere.
