Workbooks Singapore Math

Apparently, from what I have been told by our kids teacher, this is the math, or math methodology that is being taught these days, Singapore Math. Was recommended for the summer that I get these workbooks and let the kids go through them at their own pace, but egg them on a bit every week to do some exercises. Of hand not exactly sure what makes this math teaching methodology any better or different from others. I do remember that when I was a kid it was a lot of work sheets with equations, not a lot of drawings are art related to help you visualize or conceptualize what you were doing, which honestly really didn’t make math all that appealing, at least to me. Wasn’t terrible at it but was also never great at it. Probably helps to explain why I went into the more creative fields for my career. Amazon sells them in a package although it looks like by going to the Singapore Math website you can buy the individual workbooks. Summer is long, so might as well go for the package. Once I get them and have the kids go through them a bit I’ll come back for an update.
