It’s been a bit more than 3 years since the Bollywood movie RRR hit streaming services and went nuts here in the US (and everywhere else). I jumped on the bandwagon, watched the film by way of reading some article on it somewhere, I don’t remember (NY Times did a great write up). And loved it. One of my favorite movies that I kind of think back to every once in a while. Particularly now that the latest and perhaps last chapter of the Mission Impossible films has landed (still haven’t seen it). But the preview for MI Final Reckoning got me thinking, all the MI films have been cool and fun, lots of action, lots of wild stunts and chase scenes, but for some reason I feel that RRR was better. I suspect that probably what’s going on is that the Mission Impossible films are familiar, we all know what to expect, while RRR was something new, new film, new style, new actors, new locations, new concepts, very different storyline from our usual action films. Stuck with me. Think I need to watch RRR again. See if I enjoy it as much.
