Stuck in The Lego Custom Build Castles Rabbit Hole

Considering how popular it is and just how crazy some of these custom Lego builds get it’s safe to say that I am not the only parent who has been stuck going down the rabbit hole of custom builds. I happily confess having wasted most of the evening last night, after the kids were in bed, flipping through endless photos through google, Instagram and other social media platforms for custom Lego castle builds. Which had nothing to do with the last update on Architecture and Design books. As a very quick back track, we’re doing a bit of spring cleaning in the house and while we have a good amount of Lego’s in the play room we found even more in one of the downstairs closets off of the laundry room. Score. I’m thinking here how much fun I have with the kids building Lego’s, but they’ve been young so I haven’t really been able to get as crazy as I would like to be. This year thought especially my daughter is really starting to put full stories together in her head and have big imaginative worlds that she’s creating, not just one off playtime ideas. With that and with the discovery of two more modest boxes of forgotten (hidden) Lego’s, now I’m going through all the images, trying to figure out what I want to build, what she might be interested in… and heck why can’t we do that giant custom Lego castle and village and medieval town?
