Guilty Pleasure Revisiting A Wall Street Classic Read Predators Ball

Maybe it was two or three weeks ago, not sure. I’ve gone through all my most recent pulp airport mystery / spy novels, or at least feeling a little bored by them lately. Rainy day and going through my book shelves to find something to read. Funny enough Predators Ball pops out at me and I think to myself how long it’s been since I read it. Quite a few years to generous. While the markets have been acting nutty lately, or at least super volatile, it’s not the current state of affairs that tickled my fancy to read it again. I think there’s a bit of nostalgia from back in my college days when I fancied I might want to become a banker, sounded like so much fun. I was never particularly great at numbers and math, so in hindsight that was never really going to happen. Still, the Wall Street books were really fun to read, excellent escapism. Match that with the fact that I’m in the process of trying to figure out how to teach my kids about money and investing. You can see where my head was at. Would be fun to see if there are any kids books on Wall Street, in particular perhaps a rewriting of the movie Wall Street for kids in a kids book, sort of like Die Hard kids book (loved it). It will certainly be a long time from now that I try to explain to both my children who Michael Milken, Ivan Boesky, Carl Icahn and all those guys were. My guess is that by then there will be infinitely more interesting and much more devious financiers and hooligans to discuss and debate over.
